Luis Rubiales has insisted he won't resign as Spanish FA say they'll take action over 'lies'
Former Hamilton Accies star Luis Rubiales is at the centre of a furious storm after the Spanish FA president kissed striker Jenni Hermoso on the lips following Spain's 1-0 Women's World Cup final win over England.
The Royal Spanish Football Federation said: "The evidence is conclusive, Mr President has not lied." But players' union Futpro, which is representing Hermoso, quotes the 33-year-old as saying: "In no case did I seek to raise the president" while they embraced on the podium. RFEF responded to this by saying that, if selected, players have "an obligation" to play for the national team.
The kiss then took place on the podium, with the player initially saying on Instagram that she "didn't like" Rubiales' gesture, but a statement later released on her behalf appeared to defend him.
