A WOMAN has gone viral on TikTok after sharing a “must try” tip for keeping avocados fresher for longer – and she says it saves her $83 a month.
Veronica Cannady, 31, shared a clip of her leftover half of an avocado and explained how to preserve the fruit without it going brown.She dips the avocado in waterDemonstrating how it works, the New Yorker dips the leftover avocado half – leaving the seed still attached – into a cup of water, and stores it in the fridge.
She says: “So ever since I learned from TikTok that you can put avocados inside of water and put them in the refrigerator to preserve them and keep them from turning brown, I’ve never stopped doing it. Definitely recommend.”She has found that the avocados can be stored for two days and remain at perfect freshness.
The avocado-lover heard about the hack on TikTok and decided to try it out after often finding herself wasting the leftover fruit. “I decided to try that hack one day and it actually worked – so instantly after that I started using this hack in my household,” Veronica, an influencer, told Jam Press.
