Mia Dacosta is accused of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving

A woman has pleaded not guilty to killing a motorcyclist after being accused of hitting him with her Mercedes.

Mia Dacosta, of Barnsley Street in Offerton, appeared at Manchester Magistrates' Court on Thursday accused of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving. The 27-year-old is accused of colliding with Raymond Parker, who riding on a motorbike at the time, when driving a Mercedes A180 on Hall Street in Stockport on July 25 2021.READ MORE 'He was only taken away from the house 45 minutes earlier and now I was being told he was dead'

A police investigation was launched after the fatal collision, with Hall Street taped off by emergency services at the junction with St Marys Way. Before magistrates on Thursday, Ms Dacosta appeared and pleaded not guilty and will subsequently go on trial at Minshull Street Crown Court. She is currently on unconditional bail.
