Hollie Crutchley ate another table’s chicken basket then lashed out when someone suggested she pay for the food
A woman glassed a fellow pub-goer after being asked to pay for some food she’d pinched from another table.
Hollie Crutchley, 22, hurled her drink, then the glass at a Wetherspoon worker after she was caught eating another table’s chicken basket in the Wheatsheaf pub in Staffordshire. The off-duty worker – who was socialising in the pub at the time – spotted what Crutchley had done and suggested she pay for the food.
But Crutchley reacted by throwing her gin glass at the woman, which cut her as she raised her arms to protect herself.Prosecutor Rachel Pennington told Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court Crutchley was in the Wheatsheaf at 9.30pm on August 14 last year when she ate a basket of chicken belonging to some other customers.‘She picked up a drink and threw the glass and contents at her,’ she told the court.‘Security went to intervene.
She said: ‘The glass was thrown. It was done recklessly. The injury was minimal. She is extremely remorseful.’
