Reports on social media told of a police presence in the area of Edgar Crescent in Renfrew on Tuesday morning.
The death is currently being treated as unexplained.spokesperson said: “We were made aware of the death of a woman at a property on Edgar Crescent in Renfrew around 10.10am on Tuesday, January 3.
