What the devil? Salem is set to pardon its last convicted witch - after class of eighth-graders championed 300-year-old case
Elizabeth Johnson Jr was condemned in 1693 during the Salem Witch Trials. The trials saw 19 people executed and hundreds more accused. Dozens had their convictions thrown out, but Johnson was never pardoned.
