Sabrina McVey, 32, was accused of assaulting Alex Gibson, 36, with a screwdriver

Miss Gibson stated McVey "charged" up to her and struck her with a metal object to the face, head and back. She added that she bled and later required stitches at hospital.

McVey pled not guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to assaulting Miss Gibson to her injury and permanent disfigurement. The charge stated McVey, of the city's Barmulloch, struck Miss Gibson on the head and body with a screwdriver.Top news stories today She faced a further charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner at the same time and place.
