A Holyrood committee meeting was suspended today after a row erupted following reports a woman was ejected from the room for wearing a suffragette-style scarf

It came after reports on social media that a woman was asked by parliament staff to remove her green, purple and white scarf while attending the hearing in the Clerk Maxwell Room. According to reports she refused to take the scarf off so was asked to leave. FitzPatrick replied: "I am going to suspend the meeting and we will have a discussion about this in private. We are suspending the meeting."
Scottish politics MSPs on the committee were debating the second stage of the controversial bill after it passed the first stage in the chamber last month.
