Woman accused of murdering man she met on Tinder date speaks in court for first time
A woman accused of helping to plot the murder of an electrician she’d previously dated has denied playing any role in his death. Rachel Fulstow, 37, is jointly charged with the murder of 38-year-old Liam Smith, who was shot dead outside his home in Wigan before having acid thrown over him.
They have heard claims that Ms Fulstow was ‘raped’ by Mr Smith on that occasion. But she told the jury that she did not consider the incident as ‘rape’, and that years later Hillier told her ‘I’m sorry to tell you this Rachel, but you’ve been raped’. She said of him: “He didn’t want to abide by laws and thought he had his own law, nothing applied to him.” Ms Fulstow claimed Hillier asked her whether she’d ever cheated on any of her previous partners, and asked whether she’d had a one night stand.
“It kind of came out in that way.” Ms Fulstow said that Hillier told her: “I’m sorry to tell you this Rachel, but you have been raped.”
