Audrey Young, 53, was recently crowned Woman Of the Year 2023 in the Wishaw Slimming World group, held in the Beltane Bowling Club every Thursday evening , after losing 3st 8lbs and turning her life around.

I felt self-conscious all the time and would get out of breath doing the most simple things – I use an inhaler and felt very unfit.
“I tried a few ways to lose weight before Slimming World and the difference this time was that the Food Optimising plan showed me a way of eating that fits so easily around my life, without me ever feeling hungry or like I’m missing out or restricting myself. “Slimming World has a physical activity support programme called Body Magic and it helped me to gradually increase how much I was doing and how often, so I could take it up a gear at a pace that worked for me.”She added: “The group support has been so important to me on my weight loss journey. I love that the group are always there to support, even on those weeks that I’ve maybe not lost weight.
