The former tennis player conducted interviews during the coverage

Wimbledon viewers have called for a BBC co-host to be made permanent, and possibly even take over from the new host, after her appearance alongside Clare Balding. Clare was at the helm of live action through the BBC's coverage of Wimbledon this year, replacing long-time host Sue Barker.

One fan posted: "I like Clare Balding but I think @Annabel_Croft would be an excellent anchor going forward. She’s terrific, she has a real warmth about her just like Sue did." Annabel Croft is a British former professional tennis player and sports presenter. Croft had a successful tennis career in the 1980s and achieved a career-high singles ranking of No. 24 in the world in 1985.
