Prime Minister Liz Truss walked out to M People’s ‘Moving On Up’ ahead of her speech at the Conservative Party Conference If there is one thing Liz Truss hasn’t been doing in her first several weeks as Prime Minister it is “moving on up”. But even as Boris Johnson’s successor lurches from currency meltdown to cost of living crisis, she has turned to M-People’s 1993 smash of the same name to get the message out that she is soaring as PM, rather than sinking faster than the pound.
“I don’t want my song to be a soundtrack to lies,” Pickering tweeted, though he added that the band “can’t stop Liz Truss walking out to our song…very weird!”
