Because let’s be honest here: Even if Tagovailoa makes it through the season unscathed, how much does that prove? Maybe, given the risk of paying Tagovailoa, and combined with the system McDaniel is developing, the Dolphins zag with the 49ers as the rest of the NFL continues to chase elite/expensive QBs.
