Liverpool face a race against time if they are to sign Ryan Gravenberch after opening transfer talks with Bayern Munich with deadline day looming.
The transfer window closes at 11pm tomorrow, giving Liverpool less than 36 hours to complete a deal for the Netherlands international. However, if the Reds wish to have the midfielder available for Sunday’s visit of Aston Villa to Anfield, they face an even tighter deadline. Section U.23 of the Premier League rulebook states: "Subject to the provisions of Rule V.
Admittedly, it’s not impossible. But with a nine-minute substitute appearance the 21-year-old’s sole contribution to Bayern's three outings so far this season, and being able to participate in one training session with his potential new team-mates at best, he would likely only be limited to substitute duty at Anfield on Sunday if eligible regardless.
