'Think about if this was your brother, your son, your friend'

A GoFundMe appeal has been set up for a brave Rushden boy, seven, battling a genetic disorder. Albert Richardson was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at three-years-old.

Family friend Ellie Webb, 18, has set up the GoFundMe page to try and raise funds for a motorised wheelchair for Albert to help him get around. "I’m so lucky to be able to do what I do and because I know the family so well, they mean a lot to me and my family so I wanted to help where I could." Many young adults with the condition are able to attend university, have careers, get married, and have children. Survival into the early 30s is becoming more common than before, according to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
