Some 20,000 properties in Scotland were hit by power cuts due to Storm Babet.
Thousands of homes have been left without power overnight due to Storm Babet as torrential rain and gale-force winds continue to batter Scotland.
SSEN said staffing capacity had been increased by ten-fold in anticipation during "extremely challenging conditions". The red warning for rainfall in areas of eastern Scotland means there is a danger to life from the severe weather.
