With countries distracted by a war in Ukraine, an energy crisis and a battle to keep the lights on, climate change has dropped down the agenda. Has the world gone backwards on climate action since the Glasgow climate talks?

Renewable power is growing so quickly that it met all of the increase in electricity demand in the first half of this year, a key stepping stone before it then starts to displace existing fossil fuel power. "That's the future being built," says Nick Mabey, co-CEO of climate think tank E3G."EVs, heat pumps and renewable low carbon power are the things that give me hope."Major economies including China, India, Japan and the EU are accelerating the roll out of renewable power
