The pub chain will be slashing prices by 7.5 per cent on Thursday, September 14.
Wetherspoons has announced that customers will find lower prices across its menus in every single pub for just one day next week.
As reported by WalesOnline, the prices will be slashed for one day only to mark Tax Equality Day, with food and non-alcoholic drinks in Scotland in line with Scottish licensing laws. Food and drinks in pubs are subject to 20 per cent VAT, which means that prices are usually higher than what you would pay at a supermarkets where there is zero VAT on food. This means that supermarkets can sell alcohol at discounted prices.
