Almost 4000 people across the county were helped by the work of West Lothian Food Network earlier this year
A network of organisations which has helped provide food to hundreds of struggling families in West Lothian has been awarded £140,000 to help it continue operating through the winter.
The Executive agreed to fund the network over the winter with £140,000 to cover costs to the end of March next year. Total budget provision of £1.8 million from April 2021 to March 2024 has been provided or committed to the West Lothian Food Network from West Lothian Council. Part of the work undertaken by partner groups in the work now includes offering guidance on the access to wider assistance programmes.
Both councillors Veronica Smith for the SNP and Labour’s Anne McMillan asked about the effect of this on distribution.
