A man described as a ‘wealthy Russian businessman’ has been arrested at a mansion inOfficers from a special unit set up to tackle corruption linked to foreign governments swarmed on the multi-million pound home.
The National Crime Agency said a 58-year-old was detained on suspicion of offences including money laundering.and conspiracy to commit perjury as part of a major operation on Thursday. A 35-year-old man seen leaving the property with a bag found to be stuffed with thousands of pounds in cash was also arrested, the NCA said.A third man, aged 39, who is the former boyfriend of the businessman’s current partner, was arrested at his home in Pimlico on suspicion of offences including money laundering and conspiracy to defraud.
