A Glasgow bride was forced to escape thick smoke with her wedding guests after a flare failed at her wedding.

However the 56-year-old, from Knightswood, was left “absolutely disappointed” after one of the devices went rogue leaving her loved ones coughing as they fought the “dense” smoke. One guest was even left injured after cutting his finger trying to open the flare.Guests videoed the scene as Elizabeth laughed with loved ones who waved smoke away. The bride said: “I am absolutely disappointed at losing out on some potentially great photos.

One wedding guest, Heidi Strickland, told the Glasgow Times: “One pull ring wouldn’t detach to release the smoke. “After being passed around a few guests, Thomas did remove it to activate the smoke but cut his finger in the process.“Although we laughed at the scenario the smoke created, truthfully we were disappointed as we had seen some amazing photos produced using the smoke.
