An important milestone approaches
A fundraising campaign set up by the Women Against State Pension Inequality group has almost hit its crowdfunding target to launch a legal bid against the government.
For more than 3.6m women who were born in the 1950s, an anxiety-fuelled wait continues as they continue to wait for the final report from the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman . Women Against State Pension Inequality campaigners, founded in 2015, have long fought against the way in which the state pension age for men and women was equalised.The target was set at £150,000 and so far has raised more than £147,000.
So far, the ombudsman has ruled that not enough notice was given to women regarding the pension age hike, which was increased by the DWP from 60 to 65 and then to 66.
