Customers will soon have to pay for same-day delivery if they don't meet a specific criteria
Amazon Prime customers only have a few more weeks to enjoy free same-day delivery without any concern.
From September 18, Prime members will be charged £1.99 for same-day deliveries - but only under a certain condition. A spokesperson for Amazon confirmed that customers will only have to pay for the delivery if their basket total is under £20. Currently, Amazon Prime costs £8.99 a month which provides a wide range of perks, including access to free next-day delivery and free same-day delivery in eligible areas. Generally, same-day delivery allows customers to get their package on the same day they place the order or by 1pm the next day depending on the time of checkout.An Amazon spokesperson said: “Prime members enjoy fast, free One-Day Delivery on millions of items.
"Prime Members can receive Same-Day deliveries where available for free on select orders over £20, or for £1.99 if the total order is below £20. All orders will now be delivered to Prime members with the fastest available free option by default.”The spokesperson also stressed that the default option for Prime members on checkout will always be the fastest free delivery option.
