An exam marking boycott by lecturers could have a 'catastrophic' effect on summer graduations at Glasgow University, union leaders have warned.
The University of Glasgow has been forced to outsource exam marking because of a long-running national dispute over pay and conditions
Edinburgh University has said it is going to graduate students with unmarked work while Glasgow is outsourcing marking. "I can't tell you how impossible that is going to be so I don't know if they are naive or in denial about the scale of things. Staff say they have experienced a 25% pay cut in real terms since 2009 while there around 100,000 university workers are on casual contracts.
