The films chosen by TNBFC range from different genres e.g. drama, sports and non-fiction
VUE Cinema is celebrating Black History Month by teaming up with The New Black Film Collective and BFI to release three chosen productions to represent black film.Priscilla Igwe, Founder and CEO of TNBFC, said: “Here at The New Black Film Collective we know that the stories we champion are universal.
In order to engage viewers who are underrepresented and underprivileged in the screen industries, TNBFC promotes Black-led production, exhibition, and archiving. Its mission is to develop actors and actresses in the Black UK cinema sector. Burning An Illusion is the second production directed by Menelik Shabazz and combines art and activism to shed light on the Caribbean culture in London 40 years ago and will be playing on Thursday, October 19.
