In this month’s column, ErinBakerMotors reviews the Tesla Model Y while driving through the Cotswolds.
After Stow-on-the-Wold, we took a left onto the A40 to Burford. The entire village cascades down the high street like a yellow stone waterfall, to the ancient little bridge at the bottom over a tumbling river. Shops sell red corduroy trousers, tweed jackets, DuBarrys, flat caps and throws for gundogs. There are a couple of excellent antiques shops, a smart deli and cheese shop and a historically significant church to boot.
Our final stop in the Model Y was Whitney, where we bade it a sad farewell. I’ve test driven every Tesla model, and the Model Y is undoubtedly the best of the bunch so far: better looking than the Model 3 on which it’s based, more interesting than the Model S saloon and cheaper than the large Model X SUV. We’ve been eyeing up the configurator ever since.
