John Flannigan had to be tasered by police after turning violent when his nephew returned home
A Leeds man who stabbed his nephew after downing a bottle of vodka and telling him he did not like his friends has been jailed.
Flannigan took a ten-inch knife as his nephew asked him not to injure his friends. He brought the knife up, the court heard, and struck the man with it. It made contact with the left side of his face, and as the man's friends intervened, he was injured again, this time in his arm. The court was told Flannigan was found guilty of wounding with intent after a trial but had previously pleaded guilty to affray which was a charge which resulted in an incident after the attack where the police were called, he threw glass bottles and porcelain pots at officers. A taser had to be used.
