A new update for Valheim should reduce the chance of losing your Xbox save file to corruption. Here are the patch notes:
) makes several fixes and improvements to the open-world Viking survival game. One very welcome change that players will be happy to see is that developer Iron Gate Studios has improved the stability of Valheim's world saving to decrease the chance of saves from being corrupted.
Iron Gate previously fixed an issue on Xbox that caused worlds of certain sizes to reset back to day one, but corrupted save files in Valheim have been a bit of a problem since the game launched on Xbox consoles. Hopefully, this patch should sort things out. Here are theBackups are no longer deleted after being restored, so the same backup can now be restored multiple times.
World saves with missing .fwl files now show up in the Manage Saves menu so that they can be deleted.Fixed a bug that made world saves in cloud storage create a blank .old file when saving, instead of no .old file.Lighting effects reduced when using “reduce flashing lights” setting for Eikthyr antlers, all boss spawning, guardian power and boss stone activation
