Urgent vet warning over common garden flower that can make your dog seriously ill
One expert revealed: "If your pet ingests or chews on the plant of the bulb it can increase drooling, vomiting and diarrhea.
"If large amounts are ingested it can cause increased heart rate and it can cause changes in the respiratory system."A vet said: "If they have just a few leaves they can have vomiting, diarrhea, excessive drooling. "If they consume large quantities they can experience heart rate and rhythm abnormalities, as well as neurologic abnormalities."
One other plant which can be dangerous for pooches is sago palms, with a vet saying: "If you pet eats the leaves or the seeds it can cause vomiting, bloody stool, severe liver failure and it can possibly be fatal."
