Unwelcome: The new horror movie starring Derry Girls's Jamie Lee O'Donnell is coming, and it sounds bone-chilling.
But what has really drawn us in is all the spooky happenings in the trailer…before it hits cinemas in 2022…The film is about a young couple, Maya and Jamie, who move from London to rural Ireland after Jamie inherits a home there. The two are in search of a more peaceful lifestyle, leaving the rat-race of city life behind them. However, like all good horror movies, things don't go quite to plan and they end up finding themselves very - you guessed it -in their new neighbourhood.
The goblins are Redcaps, inspired by old Scottish folklore. “My grandfather, who was an Irish farmer, believed in fairies,” the film's creator Jon Wright told. “He used to say that he’d tried to build a wall at the foot of his garden, but every morning when he got up, it had been knocked down. He believed it was being built on fairy land, so he couldn’t have it there.
