Not many landlords have been at the same pub that length of time
A pub with a difference has gone on the market as the owner of 43 years plans to retire. The Castle Barge has been a floating pub since 1980 and is now an established part of Newark's food and drink scene.
"I've got two sons but they're not interested in taking the business on so I need to retire. I just want to travel a bit more than I have done in the past few years. The Castle Barge has been a place for wedding receptions. Visitors describe it as amazing, wonderful and quirky. One warned: "Great little pub. Floats though so could feel more tipsy than you think especially if the river is high. Well worth a visit."
