The wonderfully nostalgic photographs of a 'close knit' community were taken by an amateur photographer
by clicking hereKen, who was born in Belvoir Avenue in 1945, said some of the photos feature his family and friends.
He started out as an amateur photographer but since then has gone on to achieve seven City & Guilds certificates in photography and went on to become a member of the Royal Photographic Society.:"In some of the photos are my sister and brother-in-law who used to come over from Barnsley to watch the parade with my mother who still lived in Belvoir at the time."Levenshulme was a close knit community at that time they were taken.
And thanks to his passion for photography, there remains a wonderful record of a time, that for many, now only exists in memory.
