📢 Exciting times ahead for the local economy - Humber Freeport launches to boost investment and create jobs 🌱
Humber Freeport has embarked on a mission to ignite a surge of investment worth hundreds of millions of pounds and the creation of no less than 7,000 job opportunities.
Moreover, the freeport envisions potential investments in chemicals, logistics, advanced manufacturing, and technology sectors. Chair of Humber Freeport, Simon Bird, expressed his optimism, saying:"The Humber Freeport possesses an exceptional and potentially unparalleled opportunity, not only as an engine of economic growth but as the primary driver for the government's agenda of bridging regional disparities in the Humber."
These benefits include relief from land taxes, business rates, enhanced capital allowances, and relief from national insurance contributions for employers. The launch event featured another key speaker, Michael Green, Head of Freeports at the Department for Business and Trade.
