Liverpool was named in UK government data as one of the lowest performing council areas
There’s little argument that with its iconic buildings Liverpool is one of the most beautiful cities in the UK.
One of the areas hit hardest by people illegally dumping is Wavertree, with residents reporting issues with rats and mounds of rubbish lining the streets. Last month, striking images showed a trail of horrendous waste left in the wake by students packing up after their terms had ended in temporary term accommodation.
“We have to try something, it’s not just a one-size fits all approach. If it is successful, Wavertree Village can be a template for it to go elsewhere. She said: “I have some issues with that data but a lot depends on how you report it. We also do things like the introduction of the landlord licensing scheme and other means.
