Ulster's Jacob Stockdale believes the upcoming match against the Bulls will be a good opportunity to gauge their performance and set the tone for the rest of the season, regardless of the new playing surface.
Jacob Stockdale says Ulster's opening home URC fixture of the season was always going to be massive regardless of the new playing surface. After a few training sessions on the new 3G pitch Ulster welcome the Bulls to Kingspan. It will be a tough test for Dan McFarland's men as the South African outfit eased past the Scarlets 63-21 last weekend, but Stockdale believes it is a good opportunity for Ulster to gauge where they are.
"The Bulls obviously beat the Scarlets by over 40 points last weekend, they are a very talented side. "This game is a very good marker for us to see where we are and move forward into the rest of the season. "New pitch or no new pitch, the first home game of the season is always going to be massive for us."
