A Ukrainian drone reportedly hit a Russian power plant Russia has accused Ukraine of carrying out ‘an act of nuclear terrorism’ after a power plant was targeted in a drone attack. A Ukrainian drone reportedly hit a nuclear waste storage facility at a site in Kursk, western Russia, on Thursday. The Russian foreign ministry said the strike risked causing ‘a full-scale nuclear catastrophe’ that would have ‘affected many countries’.
Ukrainian officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Saturday – Kyiv generally declines to confirm or deny military operations on Russian territory. It comes one day after Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky said a Russian drone attack in Ukraine’s western Khmelnytskyi region had likely targeted the area’s nuclear power station.
