Blasts have been noted in several areas across Ukraine this morning, reportedly in response to the strike on the bridge connecting Russia to Crimea. DiMagnaySky reports as President Vladimir Putin prepares to meet his security council later today

"The rockets hit objects in the city centre and in the Solomyan district. The air alert, and therefore the threat, continues.

"This morning, 75 missiles were launched. 41 of them were neutralised by our air defence," General Valeriy Zaluzhnyi,A witness told the Reuters news agency that black smoke was seen rising from a building in the city centre following the sound of a blast. The last attack on Kyiv was in June with one missile hitting an apartment building, killing one and injuring six.
