The UK's biggest defence contractor, BAE systems, has signed deals with the Ukrainian government to ramp up its supply of weapons and other equipment. Meanwhile, the Foreign Office has confirmed the death of a British man who, his family said, had been fighting in Ukraine.

Russia has begun holding local elections in Russian-occupied Ukraine in an effort to cement Moscow's authority.

"There are two soldiers standing nearby, carrying machine guns, and they tell the people that they must vote."In one residential complex, a trickle of residents came out to cast ballots, showing newly distributed Russian passports to officials while police officers stood by. The Foreign Office has confirmed the death of a British man who, his family said, had been fighting in Ukraine.

Daniel Newey continued:"Sam, you gave your life for people you never knew and acted with courage, morality and honour. Turkey helped broker the initial deal back in 2022, and has sought to convince Moscow to return to the table since its collapse. This is not the first apparent instance of arson activity undertaken by Ukrainian resistance fighters in the city, the Kyiv Post reported.

A Ukrainian intelligence video showed a missile engaging and apparently destroying a Russian S-400 air defence system in Crimea.that Neptune missiles had been used to conduct the strike. It achieved this by altering"terrain reference sensors, the radio altimeter [and] datalink" and could even have added an additional seeker, he said.

Mr Udoshi believes that it won't stop here, with further attacks in the near future with adapted Neptune missiles expected for targets such as these . Prigozhin was seen as the common soldier's general: The man who came from nothing to acquire great power and wealth but who was always an outsider among the corrupt sycophants in the court of Tsar Vladimir.
