Genetics test confirms identities of all 10 people on board plane that crashed north of Moscow on Wednesday, including Wagner leader Yevgeny Prigozhin, according to Russian investigative committee. Three Ukrainian pilots killed in mid-air collision named.
Once again, it is important to note that this has not been verified by any external body. Following what it calls genetic examinations, Russia's investigative committee confirms that 10 people named by Russia's aviation board as being on board the crashed jet as dead.
Yuri Ihnat, a spokesperson for Ukraine's air force, confirmed this morning on Ukrainian TV that an investigation had been launched, but could offer no detail as to how long it could take, or when any findings would be shared. Yesterday, President Zelenskyy confirmed the name of one of the deceased as Captain Andrew Pilshikov, also known by the callsign"Juice".
"Brothers mention his impervious smile, sincerity, ability to come to help in difficult situations," a statement read. Mr Pilshikov, originally from Kharkiv, had eight years of flying experience. "The whole world knows full well - and is intended to know - that the man behind the killing of Prigozhin and the Wagner group leadership, not to mention the deaths of the crew, is the very same man who authorised, for instance, the poisonings in the UK of Alexander Litvinenko and Sergei Skripal," he wrote.
