Could the Ukraine war be a forever conflict? Defence and security analyst, Professor Michael Clarke, says it's likely the tension between Russia and Ukraine could last '30 to 50 years' and become a 'generational struggle'. 📺 Sky 501, Virgin 602

Live reporting from Bhvishya Patel. Updates from Alex Crawford in eastern Ukraine and Diana Magnay in MoscowDo you think Ukraine will win this war and what will be a likely solution to bring an end to the conflict?

"We're dealing here with an existential struggle because the Russian establishment thinks that Ukraine has no right to exist and they won't change their mind in the short-term.The defence analyst added that the crisis could be a"forever conflict" until"something changes in European security or Russia".

The Canadian armed forces have trained more than 33,000 Ukrainian military and security personnel since 2015, but have paused aspects of the training effort since February. Mr Kirby did not provide a specific date for when the NASAMs would be sent but said the US was"certainly interested in expediting" the systems.

After crisis talks, G7 leaders issued a statement vowing to"hold Vladimir Putin and those responsible to account".Since March, Sky News has asked some of those who are still in Ukraine or have escaped from Europe's new frontline to record audio diaries of their experiences. Last Thursday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed that Kyiv's forces had recaptured more than 500 square kilometres and dozens of settlements in Kherson.

The attack was the biggest Russian attack on Ukraine's energy network since the war broke out and prompted Kyiv to announce it was halting electricity exports. But Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said Ukrainians had voluntarily cut their electricity consumption by an average of 10% on Monday after Russia's attacks, and urged them to limit use between 5pm and 11pm on Tuesday."Please don't turn on energy-intensive appliances: electric stoves, electric kettles, power tools, heaters and air conditioners, ovens and irons, microwave ovens, coffee makers, washing machines and dishwashers.

"Given the high stakes and emotions, the window for diplomacy is likely to open at the most dramatic moment: for example, when Putin starts to unpack his nuclear toolkit, which will be visible to NATO and involve a lot of signalling by Moscow," Mr Gabuev said.
