A shortage of defence systems means Western allies are struggling to meet increasingly urgent requests to protect Ukraine's skies from missile and drone attacks.
But a senior diplomat told Sky News a shortage of supply of air defence systems was a key factor limiting the ability of allies to respond to Ukraine's needs.
"Russia's latest indiscriminate strikes on civilian areas in Ukraine warrant further support to those seeking to defend their nation," Ben Wallace, the defence secretary, said on Thursday in a statement released by the Ministry of Defence."These weapons will help Ukraine defend its skies from attacks and strengthen their overall missile defence alongside the US NASAMS."
