The club and the green were repossessed last year
South Lanarkshire councillors gave the green light for plans to build 12 flats on the bowling green next to Low Waters Miners’ Welfare and Social Club.
And the blocks will have an enclosed area to be used as a private communal amenity space, with 27 parking spaces accessed directly from Alness Street. "I know there is car parking spaces available but some of the flats are going to open onto Elliot Crescent, which is straight at the back. “When I looked at the plans it looks like it’s really tight to the back of that building and there’s fire exits on the back of the Low Waters hall and on the actual old miners’ social club as well, that will then be looking onto where this site is.
