If you’re ready for a change from the Barbie pink shade that’s taken over nail salons everywhere, then you’ll be obsessed with the latest black and white tuxedo manicure trend
There’s no denying that the recent nail trends have been distinctly soft and feminine, from sugary Barbiecore pinks to neutral quiet luxury nudes.
By now you’ll have seen plenty of variations of the Frenchie, from replacing the traditional white with pastel coloured tips, to colourful blueberry milk shades that mix bright colours with a creamy base. There are actually two variations of the trend; one which sees a white base with dramatic black tips, and one - like Tom's - that keeps the classic French tips white but layers them on top of an inky black nail bed.
To begin, take a solid white nail varnish, like shade Blanc from essie, £7.19 here, and apply it to your nails. Don’t forget, with white being such a light shade you may need to do a couple of thin layers to get full coverage. Finish off with a top coat, like the No7 Gel Finish Top coat, £7.95 here, which gives you a glossy shine and helps protect your hard work from chipping.
