This government is on life-support, which is why they will fight tooth and nail to avoid agreeing to an early general election. They wouldn’t even be the second- largest party in Westminster if one was called tomorrow, experts have warned.Truss was absent from the Commons when questions were being asked about her sacking Kwasi Kwarteng after he followed her orders in drawing their doomed mini-budget.
