A 32-year-old man has appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court in connection with the incident, which allegedly took place within staff accommodation at the site.
Police are investigating after a woman was allegedly raped by a colleague at the luxury Trump Turnberry resort in South Ayrshire.It’s understood that the incident was reported to management before Police Scotland were called to the scene.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 32-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a serious sexual assault involving woman at a premises in the Maidens Road area of Turnberry. The luxury hotel and golf resort was purchased by The Trump Organization for a reported £37.5m in 2014. A further £200m was invested into the site for an extensive renovation by the firm, which is owned by former US president Donald Trump.
The former head-of-state had arrived in Scotland the day before to visit his Menie Estate golf course near Aberdeen. He attended a ceremony to break ground for a second course at the North East resort, which is to be named in memory of his late mother, Mary Anne MacLeod.
