Much-loved presenter Paul O'Grady has died unexpectedly at the age of 67
He was well known for his self-titled daytime chat show, The Paul O’Grady Show, which began airing in 2004, followed by the New Paul O’Grady Show.
He took over the reins from Blind Date’s long-running presenter and his close friend Cilla Black, who died in 2015, to host the Channel 5 reboot of the show in 2017. Throughout his career O’Grady picked up various accolades including a TV Bafta, a British Comedy Award, and a National Television Award for The Paul O’Grady Show.
Tributes have been pouring in following news of his death. TV presenter Lorraine Kelly tweeted: "Such sad news. Paul O’Grady - funny, fearless, brave, kind and wise. Will be sorely missed. A really special man." Carol Vorderman said: "Paul, what are we meant to do without you? Presenter Charlotte Hawkins said: "Oh no, such sad news to wake up to that the magnificent Paul O’Grady has died at the age of 67. What a warm-hearted, hugely talented and funny man he was. Plus a dog-lover of course, with his brilliant show RealPOGDogs supporting Battersea_. Such a loss & gone too young ."
