'She was literally amazing'
Though Leah Taylor spent years battling her own demons, she never failed to make others smile with her infectious ‘cackle’ of a laugh.Sadly, her struggles came to an end on June 17 when she took her own life while staying at a mental health facility.But her parents Paul and Helen say their daughter’s inner battles never dulled her shine – still remembering her as the “bubbly and excitable girl” she always was.
Her family says she loved her time at Flixton Girls' School and attended Eccles College where she studied on an animal welfare course.“She was really excited but unfortunately there were the pressures of people looking at her scars and not understanding who she was,” wagon driver Paul added. “She spent a lot of the last years feeling like she was on her own because she put that in her own head, that she didn’t deserve those friends because why should they have to suffer her problems with her.
“Mental health units for young people are not good places,” Paul added. “She had been in and out of different units all over Greater Manchester. She was sadly failed by some and excelled by others.
