Matthew Lock, known as Matty, was a very popular figure in the Merseyside Labour Party
Tributes have poured in for a 19-year-old politician, campaigner and television presenter who has died suddenly.
Sefton Central Labour MP Bill Esterson was Matty's friend and Labour colleague. Posting on social media he confirmed that Matty had sadly died yesterday. Joining with her own tribute, Labour's deputy leader Angela Rayner, who had been pictured campaigning with Matty, said: "Incredibly sad news, Matty did so much for his community. My love and prayers are with his friends and family."
