The trial of a nurse accused of murdering seven babies while working in a neonatal unit has been delayed for legal reasons.
Lucy Letby, 32, has pleaded not guilty to murdering five boys and two girls at the Countess of Chester Hospital between June 2015 and June 2016.A court order prohibits reporting of the identities of surviving and deceased children allegedly attacked by Ms Letby, and prohibits identifying the parents or witnesses connected with the children. Her trial, scheduled to last six months, was due to begin at Manchester Crown Court on Tuesday where she is represented by Benjamin Myers KC.
Ms Letby, of Arran Avenue, Hereford, appeared in the dock wearing a dark suit and spoke only to confirm her name.
