🇫🇷🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Gareth Southgate's assistant Steve Holland reveals the two years of preparation that has gone into the World Cup quarter-final Here's how England plan to stop France ⤵️

at the Al Bayt Stadium on Saturday evening. For the first time at a major tournament since Gareth Southgate took over, England are definite outsiders.and Golden Ball winner. They have Ousmane Dembele, another lightning-fast forward.

In preparation for the quarter-final, journalists were invited to speak to England assistant manager Steve Holland to discover how to prepare for such an enormous fixture and daunting opponent. In their last-16 tie against France, Poland right-back Matty Cash played very well indeed and Mbappe still scored twice. England have Kyle Walker, one of the quickest full-backs in world football, but pace is far from the only asset required.

“Trying to adapt your team to cover for that whilst still trying to create your own problems is the challenge. I would like to think we won’t just be looking to stop a player, but looking to try to do everything possible to limit his super-strength while still trying to focus on our own strengths. We have good players, players just as likely to cause France trouble as Mbappe is to us.”Southgate has changed his system before in major tournaments.
